Why do these weird things always happen to me?

Like 2 years ago I wrote in this blog about something that happened to me. I can't really say it was something "weird". I haven't discovered the word for these things that happen to me. But I have decided that I need to write about them more often because if I don't, I will forget that they happened. Or I will forget the specific details which make them unique to themselves. Also, when I try to tell people about these things, they never believe me.

So here goes nothin':

On the way to pick up our friend Jon to head to NYC, I was telling Jessi about how I want to apply to a grad school that's pretty prestigious in the arts field. I told her how it's in the city. I also told her about another school in the same city, that will probably be easier to get into. We also listened to John Mayer (one of my favorite artists) and Jessi informed me that she knows someone who went on a date with him.

Nothing too crazy yet...

We grab Jon, hop on a train to NYC, hang out for a little and then head over to the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater. The improv group is Death by Roo Roo.

They pick a person out of the audience, ask them about their family, then perform as that person's family for an hour.

First off, everyone knows that I am the perfect person to dicsuss fucked up families with. Come on now, I have 2 moms and 2 dads, 3 half sisters, a step brother, a step sister, a step uncle who's 11, an ex step grandmom who's 40 something, my stepmom is 15 years older than me who is 15 years younger than my dad...shall I continue?

Secondly, the guy they choose from the audience is a writing major (I am a writing major), more importantly, he's a writing major at the school I told Jessi about in the car.

Next, after Death by Roo Roo, was an open mic improv hour. Here, a kid stood up and talked about how he met John Mayer on the street. Also in this section, was an improv about Forrest Gump which is Jessi's favorite movie.

Seriously people. What are the chances that I would go to NYC on that particular night, at that specific comedy club and this happens?!?

I'll tell ya:

In my life, the chances are pretty high.
